I recently stumbled upon a hilarious Chinese Youtube channel called TMD Shanghai. It is a comedy channel from Shanghai. I believe that watching videos from this channel can help motivate you to continue learning and improving your Chinese.
Learning any language can be hard, and keeping your motivation for studying it can be even harder. I don’t like studying a language with only dull or abstract content, and I believe genuinely funny comedy is a great motivator to continue studying it.
TMD Shanghai mainly has a bunch of comedy skits, in Mandarin, with English and Chinese subtitles. Occasionally the actors speak English, though it is mostly in Mandarin. The comedy covers mainly cultural issues. I have learned some slang, and a bit of culture from watching this channel. I think the writers/actors are brilliant, and think this Youtube channel will get much more popular in the future. Below is a funny skit that they made.
